Last week Axis Communications released a report of its "Total Cost of Ownership" commissioned study measuring the cost savings break point between an analog cctv surveillance system and an IP Camera security system. The final verdict: 14 cameras, which is 18 cameras shy of the 32 cameras suggested in a 2007 study produced by the same research group, Lusax at Lund University in Sweden.
This report reflects the exponential growth in network-based video surveillance technology as well as the shifting change in costs for these widely popular IP video cameras.
Just some food for thought when you're deciding between a future-less cctv video system and a futureproof network camera solution.
