Converting Your Surveillance System to Digital Output

Phasing in digital surveillance options into your analog system doesn't have to be daunting. WCPS has all of the tools you need to convert your system from analog to digital with ease. In addition to being economical, digitizing your system has many additional benefits, including future-proof integration, remote accessibility, and recording flexibility.

Here's what you need to know:
  1. Analog Components, including Monitors, Multiplexers, VCRs and Cameras, can easily be converted into digital media with the help of a Video Server.
  2. Video Servers, which come in 1, 4 or 6 Channel and Rack Solutions, can digitize existing analog camera feeds by converting the images then feeding them through an IP network and onto your PC, making monitoring more accessible and convenient.
  3. You can also integrate Network Cameras into your system and take advantage of superior image quality that IP cameras provide. Adding a PC Server with video management software will allow more options for recording formats, time lengths, and more.
  4. The images captured by your Analog and Network Cameras can be viewed any time and from anywhere simultaneously over the Internet.
Visit our Analog to Digital Information Page for a more in-depth explanation. You can also view an Interactive Version of this graphic from Axis Communications.

Dotworkz Ring of Fire™ at Winter Olympics.
The Dotworkz Ring of Fire housing system was proudly chosen for mountain summit at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Whistler, Canada. This is the second Olympic showing for Dotworkz and the Ring of Fire housing. Due to the extreme temperature ranges and rime ice the Ring of Fire's de-icing system was deployed to maximize camera uptime and visibility for the new network-based HD web cameras.

Dotworkz Systems Ring of Fire at 2010 Winter Olympics in Whistler

Our Ring of Fire static housings were paired with the Axis Q1755 HD network camera and are being broadcasted through the new HDRelay IP Streaming Services and NBC television.

Making its Olympic debut at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, the Dotworkz Ring of Fire is the best choice for housing and protecting costly IP camera technology in an extremely cold environment. The Ring of Fire offers a heated interior system that will prevent cameras from freezing in climates down to -40o F.

By keeping cameras within their safe operating temperatures, the Ring of Fire extends camera life, allows full mobility of PTZ functions, plus keeps cold weather maintenance to a minimum. It features a patented de-icing/defrosting circuitry that removes snow and ice that would obstruct the camera's view and a housing structure that seals out all moisture, preventing lens condensation and fogging.

Dotworkz Systems Ring of Fire at 2010 Winter Olympics in Whistler

Failure is not an option at the Winter Olympics, nor is it for the Ring of Fire and other extreme weather Dotworkz camera enclosures. Protect your investments the first time around with the Dotworkz Ring of Fire enclosure series.

Axis Introduces Q1910 Thermal Network Cameras

Earlier this month, AXIS introduced one of its latest in IP network technology -- the AXIS Q1910/-E Thermal Network Cameras, the first thermal network cameras from AXIS. These products boast a perfect complement to any professional IP-Surveillance system that needs to secure an area 24 hours a day, seven days a week. While conventional day-and-night cameras depend on a certain amount of near-infrared light to function, thermal cameras deliver surveillance images even in total darkness and in difficult weather conditions such as smoke, haze, dust and light fog.

AXIS Q1910 is an indoor variant, and AXIS Q1910-E is an out-of-the-box, outdoor-ready camera. Both cameras are very competitively priced, and provide all necessary thermal capabilities. In addition, the products offer all the typical Axis network video features, including H.264 and Motion JPEG video compression, two-way audio, local SD/SDHC storage, I/O and Power over Ethernet.
Further, since thermal images are excellent source material for video analytics, AXIS Q1910/-E provide strong intelligent video capabilities, including support for AXIS Camera Application Platform for installation of Axis and third-party applications in the camera.

WCPS will be offering these cameras as they become available. You can find the latest Axis products at www.webcamproshop.com.

P.S. Check out "Some Like it Hot: Thermal Cameras in Surveillance" for the scoop on IP Thermal technology.
